Francis Fran Shane Fran Shane Mount Laurel, N.J. — Francis “Fran” Shane, former executive director of the National Limousine Association (NLA), passed away July 3 due to complications from diabetes. He served as NLA executive director from 2003 until 2007. The Philadelphia native had a long and varied career that included hosting a weekend program for a Minnesota radio station, serving on the presidential primary campaign for Senator Robert Dole, and as executive director of the National Genealogical Society in Virginia.

Shane is survived by his wife, Geraldine; son Michael; daughters Theresa, Kelly, Christine Paladino, and Monica Shane-Sanchez; two sisters; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

A viewing was set for 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, at the Andrew T. Rakowski Funeral Home, 2634 E. Allegheny Ave., Philadelphia with a funeral mass at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 10, at St. Adalbert Church, 2645 E. Allegheny Ave., Philadelphia. Burial will be in Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, Pa.
