Harrisburg, Pa. — Unique Limousine acquired Landis Luxury Coaches, based in Ephrata, Pa., on April 1, according to owners of both companies and a report on lancasteronline.com.

Unique Limousine was founded in 1982 by Jim and Josie Salinger, who continue to operate the business today. Jim Salinger, who is the immediate past president of the Philadelphia Regional Limousine Association, recently celebrated 50 years in the transportation industry.

Jim Salinger said that acquiring Landis not only will expand Unique's customer base, but its fleet and chauffeur base as well. A new, larger location in Lancaster County, where Unique is located, is also on the to-do list. Unique will also purchase two of Landis' vehicles, bringing the fleet total to just under 70 vehicles.

Unique currently employs 10 in its offices and has a pool of 50 chauffeurs. With the acquisition, its chauffeur pool increased by nearly 20.

"In this day and age, chauffeurs are hard to come by,” says Jim Salinger. “If I wouldn't feel comfortable putting my grandchildren behind any chauffeur, I won't hire him.”
