Maryland Livery Association (MLA)

On Monday, July 20, the Maryland Livery Association (MLA) returned to the links for its second annual Summer Soiree golf tournament. Attracting nearly 100 golfers and guests, the event was held at the Eagle’s Nest Country Club in Phoenix, Md. Participants from the greater D.C. area, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and even New York took part in an 18-hole round. The MLA extends its thanks to Title Sponsor Hilb Group as well as all the other sponsors who supported the event. CD President Chris Weiss took part in the tournament and was proud to be a hole sponsor.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better day,” says MLA President Len Joseph of On The Town Limousines. “We had an amazing team helping out at registration, including Deanna Joseph and Mona Bassey, who really worked hard to make this an incredible event.”

Joseph was similarly thrilled with the endorsement from neighboring regional associations.

“It was great to have cross-support from so many associations. We had Robert Alexander of RMA Worldwide representing the NLA, Bill Kerr of Camryn Executive Transportation from the VLA, Joe Gulino and his team from Gem Worldwide were here representing the Chauffeured Transportation Association of New Jersey and the NLA, and Tracy Salinger of Unique Chauffeured Transportation was here from the Philadelphia Regional Livery Association. They really stepped up to support our event and make it even better,” says Joseph

Members of the MLA Board—including Vice President Ray Gavino of Translogic Executive, Treasurer Quentin Bassey of RSTQ Transportation, and Secretary General Japneet Suri of Executive CLS—all competed with their own teams during the Soiree, but all foursomes were eventually bested by a team from the Hilb Group, who took home the prize for best score.

“Bryan Johnson of the Hilb Group and his team not only were great supporters of the Summer Soiree as Title Sponsor, but they played a terrific round of golf,” adds Joseph. “We actually can’t thank all of our generous sponsors enough.”

Following a day on the links, the group met for a “19th hole celebration” and awards ceremony. This gave MLA members and their guests the opportunity to network and socialize.

“We talked a bit about the upcoming CD/NLA Show in National Harbor, so we were grateful to have Chris there to answer questions,” says Joseph.

The next MLA event is a general membership meeting to be held September 1 at Jimmy’s Famous Seafood in Baltimore.
