The LILA Board of Directors
On March 12, the Long Island Limousine Association (LILA) held its first Comedy Night Fundraiser at the Wind Watch Golf & Country Club in Hauppauge, N.Y. More than 150 members and guests attended the dinner event, including CD President Chris Weiss, Managing Editor Susan Rose, and Editor Rob Smentek. In addition to offering a night of entertainment and live auctions to support the association, the event also honored several industry professionals.
Following a cocktail hour (sponsored by Cabot Coach Builders, Chauffeur Driven, Model 1, and Sara Miller Photo Studio), attendees made their way to the ballroom for the awards ceremony.

LILA Public Relations Director Anthony Manetta served as MC for the evening, and thanked sponsors, including Platinum Sponsor Four Leaf Credit Union, as well as a number of local legislators who have aided the association in its ongoing battle with illegal operators on Long Island. He then began the awards portion of the evening, commenting that the association was proud to “recognize the champions of the industry.” First to be honored was Lucy Berritto and Lou Saif of Cabot Coach Builders, who were thanked by LILA President Tom Gouldsbury of Azure Limousines. Next to receive an award was Eric Coolbaugh of Advantage Remarketing Solutions, who was recognized for his constant support of LILA, including his involvement with their holiday Toys for Tots drive.

Weiss was also bestowed with an award due to his promotion of the industry and show partnership with the National Limousine Association. When receiving the award, he said he was “truly honored and humbled” by the gift, and thanked the entire CD team for their hard work.
Next, a representative from BNI, a business networking group, was called to the podium to acknowledge Gouldsbury. Four tables of fellow BNI colleagues stood up to honor Gouldsbury while it was revealed that Congressman Nick LaLota (R-NY-01) proclaimed the day as Tom Gouldsbury Day on Long Island. After receiving the award, Gouldsbury expressed pride in creating an organization with a national impact, as LILA’s efforts against illegal operators have been mirrored by associations around the country. He then thanked his executive board, who all received special recognition. Gouldsbury also honored retired law enforcement officer Tom Seifert, who aided LILA with the fight against illegal operators. Also acknowledged for their support of LILA were the Villanis of Auto One Capital. Finally, a surprise award went to Ariel UIlberg of Azure Limousines, who serves as Gouldbury’s right hand and helped organize the event. She was presented with a bouquet of flowers for her “endless hours” in assisting the association.

Following a buffet dinner, an auctioneer received the spotlight and offered several prizes and vacation opportunities. In addition, CD Magazine was proud to donate an advertising package that included space in the Affiliate Central section and a half-page ad. The item raised more than $1,000 for the association.
The evening concluded with a quartet of area comedians that had the audience in stitches.
