On September 30, the New England Livery Association (NELA) invited members and guests to take part in their annual fall networking event at Topgolf in Canton, Mass. Forty people participated in the nighttime affair, which attracted seasoned golfers and novices alike. The association would like to acknowledge Gold Sponsors Dav El/BostonCoach, Grech Motors, Magiis, and SpeedPro, as well as Silver Sponsor Great Bay Limousine.

“I’d like to extend a big thank you to our events committee led by Alicia Hayes of American Classic Limousine, Brittni Kirk of All Points Limousine, and Larry White of Above All/Maine Limousine. They did a terrific job in planning this event, which was even bigger than last year,” says NELA Executive Director Rick Szilagyi of Lexian Management. “Also, thanks to Terry Murtaugh of United Private Car for serving, once again, as our unofficial photographer.”

Whereas NELA’s general membership meetings focus largely on education, the Topgolf event was solely devoted to networking and fun. However, NELA President Brett Barenholtz of Above All/Maine Limousine did deliver a few remarks to the group. He shared that the association had received a generous grant from the National Limousine Association (NLA) as part of their program to assist state and regional associations. Furthermore, Barenholtz discussed the “no tax on tips” segment of the One Big Beautiful Bill, as well as insurance issues. Perhaps most importantly, he stressed to operator members to talk more and market their culture of safety within their business. NELA Director (and Sponsor) Richard Tessier of Great Bay Limousine also spoke to attendees, thanking them for attending.

After dinner, members were encouraged to take a turn swinging their clubs in one of the four golf bays secured by NELA. As is tradition with NELA functions, a raffle was held for various prizes. Karrine Tessier of Great Bay Limousine won the 50/50; Murtaugh won two prizes, including a Bluetooth speaker and $200 worth of lottery tickets; and Tina Benson of L.A. Limousine Service was the winner of a tailgate basket, which was donated by Hayes.
