The New England Livery Association (NELA) returned to the links at New England Country Club in Bellingham, Mass., on August 31 for its annual golf tournament. The fundraiser attracted 19 foursomes, coming from all over the East Coast, and many more members and volunteers were present for the concluding cocktail hour (sponsored by Driving Transactions) and dinner (sponsored by A&A Metro, Brown & Brown Insurance, and Commonwealth Worldwide). Chauffeur Driven was proud to be a Gold Sponsor for the event—along with Grech Motors, Windsor Private Wealth, and Acton Fleet Sales.

“A terrific time was had by all,” says NELA Executive Director Rick Szilagyi of Lexian Management. “And we couldn’t have pulled it off without the hard work of our volunteers and events committee.”

Szilagyi recognized the efforts of NELA Board Members Alicia Hayes of American Classic Limousine, Brittni Kirk of All Points Limousine, Larry White of Maine Limousine, Terry Murtaugh of United Private Car, and Henry Heinlein of Acton Fleet Sales for wearing a variety of hats during the day.

Fun on the course far extended the traditional golf tournament, thanks to competitions like the putting contest, sponsored by Hoffmann Transportation/Dolphin Transportation Specialists and Above All Transportation, which saw participants targeting high-end bottles of spirits on the green. Members and guests could also take part in a cornhole competition, which was won by Dan Morgan of Freedom Assets, who Szilagyi reports sunk 13 bean bags in a row. Also returning was the popular golf ball cannon, sponsored by United Private Car, which allowed golfers to “drive” a ball 300+ yards with help from a large pneumatic gun. Szilagyi also extended special thanks to Golf Cart Sponsor My Limousine Service.

Ultimately, the tournament was once again won by the foursome from All Points Limousine, with longest drive going to Jason Mahoney of Acton Fleet Sales and closest pin being won by Cabot Smith of Cabot Coach Builders. In addition to offering $1,000 off a purchase to closest pin winner, Acton produced baseball caps with the NELA logo for the golfers and displayed an Escalade and a Chevy Express Van on the course.

During the dinner, NELA President Brett Barenholtz of Above All/Maine Limousine addressed the participants and thanked the NELA Board of Directors and event sponsors, including Silver Sponsor RMA Worldwide, and Bronze Sponsors Freedom Assets, Lancer Insurance, Carey, Center Insurance Agency, American Executive Transportation, and Lexian Management. Szilagyi was on hand to thank the various tee sponsors and the major committee members.

After the tournament, attendees were invited to browse and bid on various auction items, which ranged from sports memorabilia and Yeti products to an Alaskan cruise. CD donated two items to the auction, including an Affiliate Central ad (won by Eric Coolbaugh of Advantage Remarketing Solutions) and half-page ad for the magazine (won by Steve Edelmann of Cabot Coach), while the CD/NLA partnership donated a show pass to the 2026 CD/NLA Show in National Harbor, which was won by Mike Rose of My Limousine Service.

Don’t put away those golf clubs just yet, because NELA’s September networking event will be held at Topgolf in Canton, Mass., on September 15 at 6 p.m. This is open to all members, whether you’re an experienced golfer or first-timer. Attendees can look forward to a cash bar and dinner, networking, raffle prizes, and much more.
