On May 26, the Virginia Limousine Association (VLA) held its seasonal membership meeting at the Washington Dulles Airport Marriott. Twenty members and guests were in attendance for the event, which featured two guest speakers.
The meeting also served as a warm introduction for new VLA Executive Director Jennifer Pettorini, who recently came aboard the association.

“We’re thrilled to have Jennifer as part of the team,” said VLA President William Kerr of Camryn Executive Transportation. “We’re proud to say that membership has been increasing in recent months.”
During the evening meeting, the members were pleased to welcome NLA 1st Vice President Robert Alexander of RMA Worldwide. He addressed the attendees about NLA happenings and spoke of the importance of belonging to regional (and national) associations.

Also featured at the event was Senior Special Agent Virginia DMV Law Enforcement Division Gary Gross, who spoke about the ongoing issue of illegal operators. He revealed that the commonwealth is suffering from a lack of manpower, with currently only six agents available to combat this issue. Nevertheless, the DMV is aware of the problem and intends to work with the VLA.

“It was definitely eye-opening, to say the least,” said Kerr.
During the meeting, a pass was raffled off to the fall CD/NLA Show, which is being held October 25-27 in the VLA’s backyard of National Harbor. For the second year in a row, VLA Sergeant at Arms Claude Cristea of Williamsburg Chauffeur Service got the prize.
