Elkhart, Ind. — Premier Products is pleased to announce the release of the industry’s first egress glass for the Ford Transit. This new glass provides a replacement for the window located behind the driver’s door, and was made to comply with all FMVSS 217 requirements for vehicles carrying more than 11 passengers as another form of exit in case of an emergency situation.
“This was a very challenging glass to develop as the factory glass that it is replacing has compound curves, which most aftermarket glass manufacturers do not have the capability of producing,” says CEO Eric Alpert. “In addition to precisely matching the radius of the Transit body, we have also matched the factory tint so the glass maintains an OEM appearance.”
Premier’s Transit egress kit comes with the glass as well as the window seal.
