LANJ President Jason Sharenow
East Hanover, N.J. — Jason Sharenow, chief operating officer of Broadway Elite Chauffeured Services Worldwide in East Hanover, N.J., assumed the role of Limousine Association of New Jersey (LANJ) president, effective March 3 upon the resignation of former president Jeff Shanker. Prior to this change, Sharenow held the position of LANJ first vice president.
Shanker left the LANJ presidential post, which he held from January 21, 2015, until March 3 of this year, due to his departure from A-1 Limousine in Princeton to accept the position of general manager for RMA Worldwide Chauffeured Transportation in Rockville, Md.
Says Sharenow, "I very much appreciate the opportunity to continue to serve the Limousine Association of New Jersey, now in the capacity of its president. LANJ has done a remarkable job representing the interests of its members under the leadership of Jeff Shanker. I am grateful for his time and effort and I look forward to continuing his charge."
It is important to note that LANJ bylaws, specifically Article 5, Section H-b, prescribe this leadership transition: "Succession of Officers: In the event the President shall be unable or unwilling to serve in the office to which he/she has been elected, the person holding the position of Vice President will assume the position and duties of the Presidency for the remainder of the year."
The next LANJ meeting will be held March 16.
