Charlottesville, Va.-based operation Camryn Limousine is proud to be celebrating their 20th anniversary. Founder Bill Kerr started the business while he served his community as a professional firefighter.
“I was a firefighter until three years ago. I drove part-time while I was fighting fires and found that I really liked the industry. I did things the right way, and told the owner of the company I drove for that I was considering branching out on my own. He respected that and to this day we’re friendly competitors,” says Kerr.
Camryn—named after Kerr’s daughter—began with just two sedans, a 2002 and 2003 Lincoln Town Car. Soon he would add a 2000 Executive Coach Builders stretch limousine to his growing fleet. Today, Camryn Limousine serves their clients with a fleet of 23 vehicles, which includes sedans to a 28-passenger coach.
While it was tough to manage the two jobs, Kerr says he had a good staff to watch the shop while he was on duty. He cites staffers like 20-year employee Barbara Morris as being vital to helping keep the business afloat.
To celebrate the anniversary, Kerr has delivered gifts to each of his chauffeurs and staff.
“You do good things and it all comes around,” he says. “I’m a fortunate man. God has truly blessed us.”
