Forest River, a leading manufacturer of buses, vans, RVs, and specialty vehicles, has acquired Premier Fiberglass Company, an Elkhart-based producer of composite components serving the commercial vehicle market. The acquisition became effective November 14.
Now a wholly owned subsidiary of Forest River, Premier Fiberglass has supplied high-quality fiberglass components for shuttle, transit and school buses, as well as commercial delivery trucks, for the past 34 years. All existing operations, facilities, management and employees, totaling 57 team members, will remain the same.
Premier Fiberglass President John Kellogg will continue with the organization as senior general manager, supporting a seamless transition and leading future growth initiatives.

“For more than three decades, Premier Fiberglass has focused on building dependable products that exceed customer expectations,” says Kellogg. “Joining Forest River provides tremendous opportunity to build on that foundation. Our employees, our processes and our core values remain the same—but now we have the backing and resources of one of the country’s strongest manufacturers. We’re excited for what’s ahead.”
The two companies share a long-standing partnership within the commercial bus and truck sector, and both emphasize that the acquisition is built on shared values: skilled, dedicated employees; a focus on craftsmanship; and a commitment to delivering durable, reliable products to OEMs and fleet operators.
With Forest River already representing the majority of Premier Fiberglass’ customer base, bringing the operation in-house will streamline production, increase efficiencies, and broaden engineering and manufacturing capabilities. Premier Fiberglass will continue to support existing OEM and aftermarket partners while leveraging Forest River’s resources to expand capacity and accelerate long-term growth.
For the chauffeured transportation community, the integration strengthens Forest River’s position in the luxury shuttle and executive bus market, enabling improved product consistency, faster turnaround times, and greater innovation in composite design.
“The purchase of Premier Fiberglass is a natural fit for Forest River and will be part of John Hanes’s commercial group, which includes cargo trailers and trucks,” says Forest River Doug Gaeddert. “Premier Fiberglass built their reputation on simple but important principles, including skilled employees who care about what they build, and products that consistently meet or exceed expectations. Bringing Premier Fiberglass and John Kellogg into our organization adds to that foundation and supports the continued growth of our business.”
