N.Y. Operators: Help Pass the Sales Tax Repeal!

An urgent call to action for all operators based in New York. The bill to repeal the sales tax on service passed an important committee in the Senate and it is on its way to the Finance Committee. David Bastian (Towne Auto Group) and Kevin Barwell (president of LBTOUNY) have been spearheading a grassroots campaign to drum up support to kill the sales tax once and for all...but they need your help. N.Y. operators are being asked to continue to contact the appropriate members of the Finance Committee with phone calls, emails, and faxes. A sample letter can be obtained from David at, which then must be faxed or emailed to each committee member and your local representatives.

Again, letters should be sent to each committee member, as well as your local representatives.

Bastian says that the most important member of the Committee is Senator DeFrancisco. It is vital for everyone to send a letter to the Senator, but also to follow up with a call to his office. Let him know how this tax has impacted your business and ask for his support. He is the person that gets this bill to the floor and another step closer to repeal.
