The US Travel Association (USTA) has elected Hilton President & CEO Chris Nassetta as the association’s national chair, according to an announcement on its website, and may serve up to two consecutive one-year terms. He succeeds former Chair Christine Duffy of Carnival Cruise Lines, whose term recently expired.
In his new role, Nassetta will work with the association’s executive team as well as its executive board as advocates for the US-based travel industry. The association reportedly represents more than 1,000 industry organizations in the travel and hospitality space.
“The US Travel Association has long been an incredible advocate for the travel industry and its significant contributions to our national and global economies,” Nassetta said in the press release. “I’m honored to represent our industry in this capacity and collaborate across sectors to advance the many opportunities ahead of us to create seamless, secure, and efficient end-to-end travel experiences.”

The association has been tirelessly pursuing the interests of North American travel partners and destinations on the national and grassroots levels, an initiative that became critical during the recent pandemic and subsequent travel restrictions. Leisure and hospitality has come roaring back—but still sits below its 2019 employment high.

“Chris leads one of the most respected global hospitality companies with a tremendous presence across the United States, and we deeply appreciate the perspective he will bring to our collective work on behalf of the travel industry,” said USTA President & CEO Geoff Freeman. “We look forward to working with Chris as our national chair and also extend sincere thanks to our outgoing chair Christine Duffy for her outstanding contributions and leadership.”

Well, nothing could be further from the truth. Simply follow this link to our registration page and avoid those dreaded feelings of FOMO.

With four days of education, networking, and fun, there’s just so much to miss by not attending the show. Our CD/NLA Education Committee has meticulously developed a slate of education that includes 15 hours of sessions, seminars, and roundtables designed to appeal to operators of all sizes and markets. Whether you have a few cars or hundreds, there will content geared for you. And don’t forget our conference hall events such as our State of the Industry (sponsored by Driving Transactions) and our exciting Keynote Address, featuring acclaimed customer service specialist John DiJulius. Special thanks to our Education Sponsor FASTTRAK, as well as our Coffee Sponsor Buffalo Limousine.
If networking’s your game, there are dozens of chances to mingle with other operators. From trading business cards over breakfast and lunch (yup, those are included with your admission) to dedicated events like Affiliate Central Global Partner Forum (sponsored by Volvo) and the International Meet and Greet (sponsored by Cardel Group, Global Alliance, and Van Delden Limousine), there’s no shortage of networking opportunities.

When you’re finished challenging yourself with our education and meeting new business partners, get ready for a trio of activities guaranteed to deliver some fun. First, on Sunday night, join us in the exhibit hall for our Show Floor Opening Night Party. With an open bar and light snacks served, you can mingle and browse our jam-packed show floor, where you can get a peek at all the products, services, and vehicles our industry has to offer. And be sure to check out our amazing 360-degree photo booth and carnival-style entertainment. Then, on Monday night, be transported to a faraway and mythical land for our Arabian Nights Party (sponsored by ANB Trans, Centennial Worldwide, and Crown Worldwide). It will be a backdrop awash in lush gold and jewel tones as we enjoy the sultry tastes and sounds of the Middle East in our enchanting private desert oasis. We’ll be serving lite bites and endless drinks, while our DJ will have you on your feet. Cap off the night with a group shot in our photo booth. Your magic carpet awaits. Finally, on Tuesday at 5:00, it’s our It's Always 5 O'Clock in Vegas Cocktail Reception. It’s time to loosen that tie, rest your tired feet, and kick back with some friends new and old for our relaxed happy hour gathering right after the show floor closes on Tuesday afternoon. We’ll treat you to some Mexican-inspired cuisine and an open full bar. And, if there’s any question, these after-hours events are also included with our admission package.

We’re less than two weeks away from luxury ground transportation’s event of the year: the CD/NLA Show in Las Vegas. Join us March 5-8 at the fabulous MGM Grand for four days of networking, education, and fun. This year’s show is expected to be our biggest and best yet, attracting operators from all over the world. And, while we look forward to reconnecting with old friends and familiar faces, we’re particularly excited about the number of new attendees joining us for the first time. As evidenced from the past few CD/NLA events, the industry is growing and attracting a lot of young, fresh talent and those looking to take their business to the next level.

With that in mind, new CD/NLA Show attendees are encouraged to take part in our fab First-Timer’s Event on Sunday, March 5 at 2:45 p.m. As part of this distinguished industry, we know that navigating your first international industry event can be challenging, so we make it a little easier by introducing you to all that the show has to offer and recommending events that not only maximize your ROI but save wear and tear on your body and mind. You’ll also join many operators just like you who are new (or newish) to the show experience, so you might meet a few friends and colleagues on your very first day! During this event, you’ll be afforded the opportunity to learn more about show producers Chauffeur Driven magazine and the National Limousine Association, while you connect with show ambassadors who will provide you with tips and tricks for the days ahead. Heck, even if you’ve attended our events in the past and just want a bit of a networking refresher, we invite you to attend.

Then, on Monday, March 6 at 12:45 p.m., newbies and veterans alike won’t want to miss the 2023 State of the Industry panel discussion sponsored by Driving Transactions. Join CD President Chris Weiss as he leads a wide-ranging group of operators from around the country (and world) as they explore what’s hot in chauffeured transportation today and where things are changing quickly. Our all-star panel includes Erica Bugbee of ExecuStar World Class Transportation, Tim Crockett of Transports Global Events, Matthew Johnston of AJL International, Karim Maachi of Cardel Global, and Hoss Oskouie of Atlantic Limousine & Transportation. These owners are just like you and are grappling with prices and inflationary pressures, securing insurance, purchasing new vehicles, finding and keeping new hires, and managing remote employees. They will share their advice on profitability, burgeoning markets to target, and which vehicles are most in demand. Our State of the Industry panel always generates interesting conversation, so you’ll walk away with plenty of ideas and inspiration.
