“As we are now more than half way through the year, our remaining classes represent only a portion of the wide range of training we conduct year round,” says Prevost Customer Support Service Manager William Salluzzo. “We strive to make every event as interactive and hands-on as possible. We invite feedback from our customers and participating technicians to help us enhance their training experiences by tailoring our program closer to their specific requirements.”
Prevost invites its operators and technicians to connect and take part in the following programs, and to stay tuned to the e-media page at www.prevostcar.com for the newest training opportunities as the company plans an ambitious schedule for 2019.
“Prevost Commercial Training is our company’s biggest training event of the year after the Annual Factory Training we conduct at the Prevost factory in Quebec City,” adds Salluzzo. “Our customers have the opportunity to take 1- and 2-day classes on topics of their choice over four days in a given area of training for each session at a Prevost Service Facility.”
In addition, Prevost invites all Prevost and Volvo motorcoach technicians and mechanics to attend its tuition-free service seminars conducted throughout the year at their nearest Prevost Service Centers in the U.S. and Canada.
According to Robert Hitt, director, Prevost Aftermarket Training North America, last year more than 650 technicians and mechanics successfully completed one or more Prevost Training programs.
Prevost conducts and maintains online library of over 40 recorded technical webinars for viewing — no user ID or password required; attendance couldn’t be easier. In addition to monitoring attendance, Prevost can supply customers with tracking of their employees who have logged onto the webinars and eligible for a reward their initiative through incentive programs or tool allowances.
“We rely on our training webinars to prepare technicians and mechanics in advance of any the live Prevost training events they will be attending”, says Hitt, “When they register for the training sessions and seminars, they also receive our list of webinars we require for them to view in advance of the event. Everyone kind of comes prepared with an idea of basics so we can focus on the meat and potatoes of what we do.”

Businesses looking to participate in the list were required to submit financial information for review by CPBJ’s editorial staff. Out of more than 2,500 companies in the region, only 33 met the qualifications to make the list, which included comparing and averaging each company’s percentage and dollar growth over one and two years. Premiere ranked No. 10.
“A company is expected to grow in its early years, but to maintain growth over five consecutive years is tough to do,” said Douglas Rydbom, Sr. Member, Premiere #1 Limousine Service. “We make sure to continue to stay up with the trends and change with the times and the demands of today. This involves constant adjustments to our vehicles and services, such as adding eight motorcoaches to our fleet in just a two-year timeframe.”
Along with this recognition, Premiere won a plethora of awards over the years from CPBJ for diverse initiatives such as growth, service to the community, and acknowledgement as a top-rated regional company in different categories. A few previous awards include the 2017 Business of the Year Award in the 51 to 100 Employees Category, multiple finalist qualifications for the Business of the Year Award, numerous rankings on the Veteran-Owned Business List, and countless appearances in the Book of Lists.

The day of camaraderie and friendly competition had teams of golfers battling it out for the first-place finish, as well as various contests on the green, like Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin. Team L.A. Limousine, captained by NELA board 2nd Vice President Tina Benson, took home the first-place trophy.
“They’re always a strong team in this tournament. Team L.A. Limousine, captained by Tina’s son, Justin Benson, has won this annual tournament numerous times since it began in 2000,” said NELA Executive Director Rick Szilagyi. The team also included Brian Nowak, Dylon Lortie, and Tina’s brother Carl Varney, who many may recognize for his help at NELA’s Chauffeur Appreciation Day.
Team Able Limousine, captained by Immediate Past President Mike Callahan of Able Limousine, came in second and included Mike Xidea, who scored a hole-in-one during the tournament, Jeff Canady of CLT Express in Charlotte, N.C., and Alex Scriccio, who also represented the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation during the dinner/awards event. Third place went to Team Advantage Funding, captained by Golf Committee member Dan Morgan and included Dante Rizzo, Patrick Laffan of MCI, and Seth Robbins, Esq., nephew of late NELA board member Jerry Robbins of Weldon Worldwide.
Additional winners included Arthur Messina of Create-A-Card getting Closest to the Pin on Hole 12 while Mike Xidea of Team Able Limousine landed Closest to the Pin on Hole 7 with a hole-in-one. Brian Nowak of Team L.A. Limousine got the Longest Drive at Hole 16 and Stephanie Prince of Prince Limousine won the top raffle price, a 49” UHD TV 4D.
But in a day filled with trophies and prizes, the real winners were the charities benefiting from the fundraiser, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and CHIPS House.
Both charities are personally linked to the association. Friends of Callahan’s have cystic fibrosis running in their families while Dawson Rutter of Commonwealth Worldwide has supported the foundation for years. And CHIPS House, which offers long-term care and independent living opportunities in a community environment to those with head injuries, is where founding-NELA-member and tournament namesake George Colarullo’s son resides.
The next NELA event will be its September 11 quarterly meeting.
