Two longtime Connecticut companies are joining forces as Elite Limousine has purchased Ambassador Limousine. The announcement came from Ambassador’s CEO & Partner Gianni Zarilli in a letter to customers. Both companies have been in business for more than four decades and operate several locations across the state. The merger was effective February 1.

“As the landscape of our industry evolves, we have carefully considered how to best position ourselves for future growth while maintaining the exceptional service you have come to expect,” Zarilli wrote to customers. “This partnership marks a significant milestone, enabling us to elevate your travel experience by combining our strengths with those of Elite Limousine of CT, an established leader in the industry for over 40 years. Elite Limousine of CT operates one of the largest and most versatile fleets in Connecticut, with locations in Hartford, North Haven, and Norwalk. Their longstanding commitment to safety, superior customer service, and a premium travel experience aligns perfectly with our values. Thank you for your continued support as we embark on this exciting new chapter together.” He added that customers will also benefit from advanced technology and access to global resources.
This is the second company founded by Steve DiMarco to be acquired by Elite. DiMarco launched Ambassador Limousine in 1984 and is currently listed as the company’s chief information officer. Another of his companies, Premier Limousine, was acquired by Elite in 2020.

Gerrard Chauffeur Drive recently announced the creation of Gerrard Global. Based in Dubai, serving the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and wider Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Gerrard Global brings the Gerrard name to new pastures: a region rich in cultures and brimming with vibrant, open business environments. With a reputation forged in London and proven across the planet, Gerrard Global will continue to serve existing partners in the region, while seeking new connections and relationships. Gerrard Global will help clients with chauffeur support at events and roadshows, with secure travel and for bespoke needs, as well.

“We’re so proud to be part of the UAE business world,” says Martin Cox, partner at Gerrard Global. “The energy here is unmatched. And we’re laying the foundations for a new phase in our wonderful and rich history by opening Gerrard Global in Dubai. We look forward to seeing familiar faces and making new connections, and that’s throughout the MENA region. Bringing what we started in London nearly 30 years ago into such a dynamic part of the world is massively exciting for us. We can’t wait to get started, and as always, our chauffeuring approach will come with that signature Gerrard flourish: moving people stylishly, discreetly, and safely.”
“The Gerrard brand is a high watermark in excellence in chauffeuring and has been since we opened our doors and hit the road running in 1989,” adds Rupert Beecroft, partner at Gerrard Global. “We’ve proven ourselves the world over, and this expansion into the UAE is one of our most exciting challenges yet. Having spent time in the region, meeting clients, sampling new cultures, and gaining new perspectives, Martin and I were determined to create a local presence and to bring the Gerrard name into the region. It’s a move that will help us be at our best for our clients and to help us grab new opportunities, including inbound traffic to the UK.”
According to the press release from the company, Gerrard Global is ready for a fresh chapter in its rich history, creating new connections in the UAE and broader MENA region while maintaining a hard-won reputation for excellence in chauffeuring.

On February 4, the Virginia Limousine Association (VLA) held a general membership meeting at the Dulles Marriott. The evening meeting attracted 30 members and guests, including representatives from the Maryland Livery Association (MLA).
Sponsored by Advantage Remarketing Solutions, the meeting’s guest speaker was Jennifer Matthews of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA), who previously spoke at the joint meeting of the VLA and MLA at the fall CD/NLA show. Matthews was on-hand to address the new registration of vehicles used for business at all MWAA airports and how it will be enforced.

“This was a great meeting,” says VLA President Bill Kerr of Camryn Executive Transportation. “We’re growing tremendously. At the meeting, we announced that we’re going to move from quarterly meetings to bimonthly.”
Kerr also revealed that the VLA is going to make improvements to the organization’s homepage, making it easier and faster for members to receive timely information. He also stated that the next meeting will contain a vote on some changes to existing association bylaws.

“We’re really looking forward to 2025,” adds Kerr.
The next VLA meeting is scheduled for April, with the date and venue to be determined.
