AJL AJL International President Matthew Johnston

AJL International Worldwide Chauffeur Services, which is based in the Dallas area, has announced that they have added the Cadillac LYRIQ to their comprehensive fleet. Purchased largely as an experiment, AJL President Matthew Johnston is excited about the feedback the all-electric vehicle is receiving.

“I wanted to be one of the first operators in the state—or the Dallas market—to try them out and see if there was any traction,” says Johnston. “Even though there’s minimal EV needs in Texas, and many people don’t request them, we wanted to try it out and give it a shot.”

Immediate client reception has been phenomenal, he says.

“Since we’ve gotten it in, we use it four or five days a week, and clients—and chauffeurs—love it. I got a request for a four-day road show that wants an electric vehicle,” says Johnston. “The customers like the fact that it’s new and exciting, and they like that it’s a Cadillac. They say that it’s one of the smoothest riding cars they’ve ever been in. When you drive over a bump, it’s like riding on silk.”

AJL AJL added a Cadillac LYRIQ and four Volvo S90s to its fleet

Johnston says that when the price point comes down a bit, AJL will likely add more EVs to his fleet as any price difference over an gas-powered sedan will pay for itself due to the lack of fuel bills.

AJL International also added four new Volvo S90 sedans to their fleet.

“I was primarily an SUV or crossover user, but I had some affiliates that wanted to offer a true sedan. I bought four of them and the clients love them. The gas milage on these things is unreal,” shares Johnston.

In addition to satisfying client needs, adding these sedans has established a relationship with AJL’s local Volvo dealer, which will likely extend into the future. Johnston is very happy with the new sedans and plans to add more in the future.
