To assist with fundraising efforts, Create-A-Card will donate $100 per order ($200 minimum order) for all orders placed by current ILA members, now extended until February 15, 2016.
“From business card orders to full trade show booths, every printing order counts,” said Create-A-Card Founder/President Arthur Messina. “The ILA is near and dear to Create-A-Cards' heart, and we want to do everything possible to help them. With ILA's goal of $75,000 to begin legal activities, it is going to take support of their entire community of members, non-members, vendors, and global affiliates alike.” He added that there was no limit to the number of orders placed during this time.
“What better time to stock up on your marketing materials? Get ready for industry shows with a newly designed business card. Prepare early for your wedding season, or launch that corporate campaign you've been holding off on. Every order will be helping the ILA's cause—and you get something in return,” he said.

Magruder was hired in 2015 as a dispatch manager for Royal Transportation Group—a position that was meant to be temporary—but company President Cliff Wright quickly realized that he had a capable jack-of-all-trades on his hands. He says that Magruder jumped in feet first to assist with dispatching and the company’s chauffeur training program, and was soon offered a permanent position in affiliate management.
Thanks to her excellent organizational skills, according to Wright, Magruder became Royal’s first groups coordinator and successfully led the company through the rigorous programs, which gave the firm a high status with DMCs. She also continued to be an integral part of planning, and recently took over management of the affiliates division.
“Who would have thought that this tenacious, late-night dispatcher would become our director of operations in just over six months? We are lucky to have Brenda on our team, and she’s perfect for her new role,” said Wright. “She’s highly organized, creative, extremely determined, and has a fantastic attitude. Everybody she encounters just loves her.”
“I am beyond excited to be the new director of operations,” said Magruder. “I was part of the team behind the scenes for years, and I’m proud of the evolution of my position in that short period of time. It’s amazing to be given the opportunity to be in the driver’s seat because I have a lot of ideas and I’m ready to get to work.”
In other news, Fran Allen was also recently promoted to business development manager. In this position, the company will look to Allen to develop strong, long-term relationships and referrals with senior management at targeted firms as well as resorts and affiliates.

"Regardless of the outcome of the election, all of you are wonderful assets to our industry, but most importantly, to our association," said Nominating Committee Co-Chair Steve Qua of Company Car and Limousine in Cleveland, Ohio.
NLA President Gary Buffo of Pure Luxury Transportation in Petaluma, Calif., added, "On behalf of the entire membership, we want to thank each candidate for their willingness to serve this association and its members".
The new members of the board will take their elected seats on February 28 in Las Vegas.
In other news, the NLA recently issued a statement regarding Uber (not Lyft or any other TNCs, thanks to an exclusive sponsorship) being permitted at the Super Bowl for the first time. The association wants to remind Super Bowl 50 attendees that chauffeured ground transportation offers a safe and reliable means of travel to the game, and that the surge pricing common with Uber is forbidden within the NLA.
Also related to Super Bowl 50, online news provider, Quartz, recently published an article that erroneously stated that Uber would be the only transportation service allowed near Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. Despite a statement of retraction from Quartz, NLA President Gary Buffo issued a response:
“NLA members will offer pre-arranged ground transportation to and from the ‘Big Game,’ just as we have for the past 49 years. We are proud of our relationships with the Super Bowl Host Committees, providing fans with the most reliable source of transportation to and from the game. As always, unlike Uber or Lyft, we will never blindside our customers with price gouging or any of the other uncertainties—some downright frightening—that come along with digital hitchhiking.”
