Richmond, Va. — James River Bus Transportation, with locations in Richmond, Williamsburg, and Norfolk, Va., recently underwent a rigorous inspection by the United States Department of Defense. The inspection, which is mandatory for all companies that transport military personnel, covered the company’s safety systems, maintenance, training, and operational performance.
Once again, the company earned the coveted #1 “Outstanding” rating. This is the highest rating possible and has historically been achieved by only the top 10 percent of all inspected carriers (a #2 rating is considered “Excellent”). It is important to note that not all carriers even choose to submit to the Department of Defense inspections. The company has been in business for nearly 90 years, since 1928.
