The countdown is on: We’re just days away from the fabulous CD/NLA Show at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center from October 13-16. But procrastinators rejoice! There’s still time to register for the event of the season—and save some money. Simply head to cdnlashow.com and sign up for four days of education, networking and fun. And don’t forget, NLA members save $75 off the price of admission.
One of the great things about the CD/NLA Show is that it gives local and regional associations a voice and common place to work together. Whether it’s the Association Summit (discussed in last week’s enews) or at a booth on the show floor, through our event, associations get the opportunity to meet with current and prospective members and discuss issues facing the industry. At this year’s show at the Gaylord National, two regional groups—the Maryland Livery Association (MLA) and Virginia Limousine Association (VLA)—are teaming up in their backyard to hold an open meeting. Co-moderated by MLA President Len Joseph of On The Town Limousines and VLA President Bill Kerr of Camryn Executive Transportation, and sponsored by Advantage Remarketing Solutions, all operators are invited to join the MLA and VLA meeting on Tuesday, October 15, from 8:15 a.m.-9:30 a.m. for on-point programming that includes several guest speakers. The MLA and VLA are pleased to welcome NLA President Brett Barenholtz of Above All/Boston Car/ETS/Maine Limousine, who will be on hand to discuss the importance of local associations and speak about the two associations’ partnership with the national organization. Also speaking is Jennifer Matthews from the Metro Washington Airport Authority, who will address pressing issues with ground transportation at the local airports. This is a stellar opportunity for operators from within the Maryland/D.C. area—and beyond—to get keyed in on what’s happening regionally.
In the meantime, don’t forget to sign up for the Operator Mentoring Program, happening on Sunday, October 13, at 4:30 p.m. Seating is limited to this event and preregistration is required. Click here to select your mentor today.

Another returning—but revamped—favorite is our Association Summit. Traditionally, this event has offered regional and national association leaders the chance to meet in a roundtable format to discuss the issues facing the organizations. After the standing-room-only event in Vegas this past March, we’re jumpstarting the summit to encourage all local association members and intrigued parties to attend for an in-depth conversation about insurance. Join us on Tuesday, October 15, for Navigating the Insurance Crisis: Strategies for Operators and Association Leaders, a classroom-style session geared toward tackling the insurance crisis faced by chauffeured ground transportation operators, as well as the motorcoach and trucking industries. Our experts—moderated by FLA President and NLA Treasurer Rick Versace and CTANJ Secretary and NLA Board Member Jason Sharenow—will unravel the complexities behind rising claims, skyrocketing jury awards, shifting risk dynamics, and market instability. Engage with top industry leaders as they share actionable strategies and solutions to weather the storm and secure the future of your business. Don’t miss this crucial dialogue on safeguarding your operations and navigating the evolving insurance landscape. Come with questions, as we will also have abundant time for Q&A.
